Coaches Notes:

I am super incredibly proud of Alex! Last year in 2022, he followed my Triathlon Transformation program and achieved all the goals he set for himself. He lost 70 pounds and completed a 70.3. The he disappeared, stopped training, and went back to eating poorly. He lost fitness and gained back some of the weight.

This year he came back with a new goal. To make this a lifestyle and not a diet plan to follow temporarily. He had a new goal of a sub 7 hour 70.3, and lose all the weight he gained back. Guess what? He did it! Eagleman 70.3 in 6:57 and lost a total of 110 pounds.

And he has already set his new goals for a sub 6 hour 70.3 and then a full Ironman in 2025. Way to go Alex, you are a true Rockstar Triathlete and a great example of never giving up and anything is truly possible! Thanks for choosing Full Circle Coaching!

What is your age?
45

What is your profession?:
I graduated as a Business Administrator, always worked in the IT market, and for 16 years ran an IT integrator company in Brazil.

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
I met coach Erinne 2 years ago when I weighed a lot more but was ready and willing to do a half IM in 6 months. She supported me and made me confident I would accomplish my goal with the Triathlon Transformation program.

What is your “A” race for this season?
IM 70.3 North Carolina in October 2023

What are your BIG goals?
Reduce my weight to under 200 lbs. (I was 330 lbs. and now I am at 220 lbs.) and finish a 70.3 in under 6 hours in 2024, then a Full Ironman in 2025.

Tell me about your successes so far!
It has been a long journey. It took a long time for me to understand I should trust the process, make better decisions in the short term to get benefits on the long term. I faltered after my first race and, regained weight, stopped training and it was hard to come back. But here I am, much more healthy and prepared not only for the Triathlon, but for life. The improvements I am experiencing in my life are amazing after making this commitment to myself.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.

I lost 110 lbs, reduced my body fat from 40% to 20%, achieved a sub 7 hour 70.3 last weekend at Eagleman 70.3, and I am feeling better than ever.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

  1. Trust the process.
  2. Understand the time of the changes and how long it takes to the results to appear.
  3. Keep focus and persistence.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
The challenge of 3 sports together and the competition against myself to break my own limits.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
Jump in! Start now, as you are, with the tools you have and keep pushing. Anything is possible, believe!

Let Your Imagination Run Wild for Your Bucket List

Let Your Imagination Run Wild for Your Bucket List

All right, friends! I have a super-fun project for you today.

Today, you’re going to work on your bucket list. If you’ve gotten lost since making New Year’s resolutions, or if you never prioritize yourself, or if you’ve forgotten the importance of dreaming big, then this is going to make your day.

The phrase “bucket list” has become widely known to illustrate things you want to do at least once before you die – before you kick “the bucket.”

Some bucket lists might include parachuting out of an airplane… watching the sunset in Hawaii… Completing an Ironman …….. or running the Boston Marathon…

There are no limits. No rules. Whatever you want!

So, let’s do it. Grab a pen and paper, or type it on your laptop or phone in the notes section right now. There’s no minimum or maximum number of items on your bucket list. Just put down anything you’d like to do at least once in your lifetime.

Dream big.

Let your mind – and heart – wander in all sorts of directions. Places to go, yes, but also … people to see, projects to build, events to complete, or emotions to experience… You don’t have to be “realistic,” either. If you want to be Princess Leia for a day, write it down!

It’s all up to you.

When you finish the first “brainstorm” style list, maybe go back and do a light edit. There might be some redundancies or potential groupings. There might be ACTUAL WAYS to do some of the fantastical stuff (like seeing Coldplay or riding a rollercoaster at a theme park).

But don’t judge yourself.

Indulge yourself. Remember, your bucket list is all about YOU. Nobody gets to say, “You can’t do THAT,” about anything on it.

Then, try to get specific. It’s one thing to say, “I want to see Paris.”

Great!

Let’s go deeper. “I want to see Paris… and walk into that bakery shop I saw in a movie… and smell the pastries… and tear open the fresh croissant.”

Have fun with this. Feed your sense of adventure and of play. Recall what you dreamt of as a child and consider if you still have those aspirations. What will bring you joy?

Are there items on your list that you want to pursue now? Or are you happy to leave most of them for “someday” …?

Both can be nice. You decide!

If you are reading this from me- Completing an Ironman or finishing in a specific time, Completing a sprint or Olympic distance Triathlon, Losing 50 lb’s to get healthy, or Getting faster will be on your list.

If that is the case, I’d love to help you on your journey to check that item off your Bucket List!

Use this link to fill out the application for my Triathlon Transformation Program, and then follow the prompt to set up your call with me.

How Do You Challenge Yourself to Grow?

How Do You Challenge Yourself to Grow?

For any living thing, growth is life itself.

Humans have an innate need to grow, improve and learn. There’s nothing wrong with it – it’s only natural. It’s one of the 6 Human Needs Tony Robbins says drive us all.

Think about your own desire for growth. Where does it show itself? Does it drive you to good things – only or mostly? Have you come upon any danger signs indicating you’re trying for too much too soon?

Tony says that if you’re always pursuing growth, you’ll avoid boredom and attachment to people or things. You might thrive by pushing boundaries but want to move on too quickly from relationships. He recommends diving deep to master new topics or skills and remembering the importance of emotional and spiritual growth through self-examination and meditation.

I know many people who want to grow so much that they pursue it obsessively, neglecting other aspects of life – other human needs – that will bring them balance, peace, and lasting success.

We can always chase “the next thing” – and never really appreciate what we have.

But if we cling too tightly to what we have, we’re blocking our human nature from growing.

It all comes down to choices and balance. That’s a tricky dance for everyone. It is a core principle of my life and of Full Circle Coaching.

The solution is rooted in the same healthy habits that sustain us all and improve our chances of healthy growth: regular exercise; healthy diets; stress management; quality sleep.

You can’t grow without them.

There is still time to join my Nutrition Essentials Program where we dive deep into all of these topics and so more to help you keep growing. Click here for more info!

Rockstar: Willy Larreal

Rockstar: Willy Larreal

Coaches Notes:

Willy dreams of qualifying for Kona, and I’m so psyched to be on this journey with him. When you are already fast and have lots of experience, it is MORE difficult to get even faster.

He has done a 12:30 IM Florida and a 11:15 IM Texas.

My system of getting someone faster is very contradictive to the mainstream way of coaching for the Ironman, and frankly, many athletes are afraid to go shorter and get faster, but that is my secret sauce, and guess what? It’s working.

With two PRs (Personal Records) already in the books since we started- we are headed to the next one at Ironman Maryland for a qualifying spot for Kona- Sub 10 is the goal!

Willy has had to get a bit out of his comfort zone by doing more testing and a different kind of training than before, as well as communicating more with his coach- Me! These are all pieces to a giant puzzle to his ultimate success- Ironman World Championships- Let’s do this, Willy!

Improvement on the bike, I was able to complete the 56 miles on a 70.3 Ironman in 2:20 hrs.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

  1. I have completed different types of workouts in all three disciplines. Ones based more on technique and numbers make the training very exciting.

Rockstar: Nicole Fuentes

Coaches Notes:

Nicole just graduated from my 8 week Beginner Tri Program. This is an ideal program to test the waters of the sport of triathlon and see if you are a fit.

I, of course, know that everyone is a fit if they choose to be. If you want to do I triathlon, I will get you there. I guarantee it. But sometimes a new athlete is not sure and this program gets you there safely and builds confidence in all the areas of the race.

Nicole’s success at her first Sprint Triathlon was because she really showed up- for the daily training (30-45 min/ day only) and the weekly coach calls. All while being a busy Mom of 3, wife, and Professional.

She invested in herself, and now I am happy to say she is joining us for the 16 Week Triathlon Transformation program for her next race goal- An Olympic Distance Triathlon.

Please see her notes below about how every other aspect of her life improved by joining our program.

Way to go, Nicole! Super excited for the next stage of the journey- Thanks again for choosing Full Circle Coaching!

I help organizations build an engaged workforce and increase profitability by activating the sense of purpose and emotional well-being of their leaders, managers, and team members.

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
I love their holistic approach to training. Not only learning about each one of the sports but also learning about nutrition and mindfulness. I also wanted to join a community, meet people and make new friends as I recently moved to this country.

PD. Coach Erinne got me at “Yes! You can definitely do a triathlon with your mountain bike.”

What is your “A” race for this season?
I joined the beginner’s program to complete the Integrity Multisport Sprint Triathlon.

What are your BIG goals?

  • Be healthy
  • Enjoy nature
  • Make friends
  • Have fun
  • Complete an Olympic triathlon

Tell me about your successes so far!

  • I completed my first-ever sprint triathlon!
  • Learning to swim in open water.
  • Pd. Also, managing to get in the pool at 5:00 am. The rest of the day was a piece of cake.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.
A nice side effect of the training program was that I could focus and concentrate on writing. My creativity and willpower improved in all areas of my life. I sleep better, have more energy, and feel calmer. My stress levels were reduced. I complete most of my to-do’s when I train.

The most significant improvement for me was in swimming. This is a sport that I have yet to formally practice and learn the technique.

The bicycle was where I felt most comfortable. This is my favorite sport. I knew there was only so much I could do on a mountain bike. So instead of worrying about everyone riding faster than me, I enjoyed the rides and the sunrises.

I ran the 5K under 30 minutes for the first time in many years.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

  1. Coach Ollie with her patience, attention to detail, kindness, and sense of humor.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?

  • Spending time in nature.
  • Being surrounded by inspiring teammates.
  • Witnessing my own progress and the amazing feeling that comes with accomplishing goals.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
Give yourself permission to have this experience. The FCC coaches will meet you where you are. The worst thing that can happen is that you fall in love with the sport.

Coaches Erinne’s Notes:

Enrique truly embraces the triathlon Lifestyle. This is his 3rd rockstar testimonial over the last 2 years and I am so proud of his living embodiment of one of the values I have for my athletes.

Kaizen means constant steady improvement. Enrique lives this in his life as a triathlete, father, husband, and businessman. He uses the races as milestones on the calendar to aim for while continuing to maintain his strength, fitness, and nutrition with life, sport, family and work.

Thank you, Enrique, for trusting Full Circle Coaching with your triathlon journey and for being a living example of what is truly possible! You are, again, A Rockstar Triathlete!

What is your age?
I will be 60 this year

What is your profession?:
I am an engineer

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
Initially, it was to train for a triathlon race following a program with a Coach. After two years, the Full Circle Coaching program is excellent, and training with a team makes a big difference.

What is your “A” race for this season?
This year it was Victoria 70.3 which I finished last weekend.  My plan is to do another 70.3 before the end of the year but I have not decided which one yet.

What are your BIG goals?
For the rest of the year my plan is to work reducing my times even further in all the sports before doing another 70.3.

Tell me about your successes so far!
I came two years ago to train for an Olympic Race since it was a challenge; now I am very comfortable in the 70.3 distance; all that came with hard work, a lot of learning, and the privilege to train with excellent coaches and athletes.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.
When I came 2 years ago I realized I needed to learn how to swim, bike and run properly to be able to compete; now I am a better swimmer, a stronger rider and I run with good technique, but there is still a lot to improve. In the swim I did the 5km Miami swim this year, In bike, despite a challenging course in Victoria, I was able to do all the climbs and maintain my planned power all the race. The run is still pending work to do to get to the point I want to be.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

  1. Team
  2. Nutrition
  3. Coaches

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
It is a great sport; you are always competing against yourself and you are surrounded by excellent people with similar goals.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
Just do it! You will learn a lot about yourself, meet great people, improve your physical and mental health, and have a lot of fun.

Top 3 Tried and True Pre-Race Breakfasts

Many triathletes are confused about what to eat for breakfast when they start to move away from the traditional sugar laden, carb heavy breakfasts like oatmeal and boxed cereals (dead food!)

The following 3, are tried and true breakfasts that deliver nutrients as well as perfect proportions of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. My goal with offering these suggestions is to encourage eating real food before a race or hard training session so that you can get quality nutrition into your body before having to resort to sports nutrition for simple ease of use during a race. There are however lots of great options on the market now to keep it real even during a race. Look for those tips in an upcoming post. Also, for your convenience I’ve added links for purchasing information for the products I recommend. Just hover over the items in bold and click.

Chia Seed Pudding – Super quick and easy. You can make it the night before and keep it covered in the fridge.
2-3 tablespoons of organic chia seeds
½-1 cup of Real Coconut Milk,
1 -2 tablespoons of Paleo Valley Bone Broth Protein
Add a handful of organic almonds or walnuts, organic berries, organic banana- raw honey or maple syrup to taste. A pinch of real salt to include some minerals and electrolytes and you are good to go for a delicious nutritious snack or breakfast

2-3  organic eggs cooked in coconut oil any way you like
½ –
1 whole sweet potato with real grass fed butter or coconut oil.
I usually bake the potato the night before, have half for dinner and the other half with breakfast warmed up in the pan I cooked the eggs in.

Naturally smoked wild caught salmon with avocado and chia seeds (wrapped in a nori roll)with a squeeze of lemon – This is definitely my favorite pre-race meal. I actually learned about the salmon from an ultra -runner who ate it before every long run event. Salmon is easy to digest and has tons of great protein and omega 3 fatty acids. Paired with ½ avocado and sprinkled with hemp hearts and real sea salt and a squeeze of lemon or lime- It is the perfect pre-race/ training meal or snack.

I know many of you would never even think of any of these items as breakfast food because we are so conditioned to our typical American breakfast of cereal or Eggo waffles that has negative nutrients and are actually harmful to your health.

But I can tell you from personal experience, eating low sugar/ low processed food with higher nutrient value just makes you feel and perform better.

Please test any of these out before you actually use them before a race.

Never try anything new on race day, especially nutrition!

Ready to learn all the best nutrition plans for your ultimate performance on race day along with every day?

Rockstar: Mason Fruit

Rockstar: Mason Fruit

Coaches Notes:

Mason called me up, telling me he had three 70.3 races on the books for 2023, and I knew my 16-week Triathlon Transformation program would be perfect for getting him across the finish line faster than ever in the first one (Florida 70.3 in Panama City), and a rinse and repeat program for the next two.

If you have been following me, you know how much I encourage my athletes to get strong and fast before going long.

That is precisely what we did with Mason. First, we did all of his assessments and testing since he is not a local athlete. This is how I get to know you as an athlete and correct your technique and teach you HOW to TRAIN using your individual cardiovascular testing and training zones. We use the information from the assessments to create your training program. We also create your Map to your A Race with shorter distance races to get good at racing!.

We started first with racing a sprint triathlon, then an International, and we also included Swim Miami – both the 800 and 1-mile races, in which he swam the mile faster than the 800 after getting a good warm-up in on the 800!

Racing in these shorter distance races is essential to practice the skills and drills and pacing he was doing in training in race settings.

The result for the first 70.3 is a 6:09

So proud of your success so far, Mason! Let’s get even faster and stronger for the next two!

What is your age?
26

What is your profession?:
Electrical Engineer

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
I wanted results faster than I was seeing training on my own. I am new to the sport, don’t know too many people in the community, and was looking for a coach. At the right time, I went to Coach Errine’s clinic before Miami Man last year. I liked her holistic approach to training and triathlon.

What is your “A” race for this season?
I have 3 “A” races – IM 70.3 in Gulf Coast, 70.3 in Santa Cruz, and 70.3 Arizona

What are your BIG goals?
I would love to start finishing in the top 10% in my age group at 70.3s. Still, a long way to go – but I’m having a lot of fun and making progress. Now want to keep it going!

Tell me about your successes so far!
IM 70.3 Gulf Coast went great for me. I was very happy with both my time and how I felt.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.
Swim – I learned how. I really didn’t know proper technique, body position, stroke mechanics, breathing, head position, hip rotation. If you don’t believe me, ask Coach Errine I’m sure she can attest I truly was at the beginner level 😉
Bike – I gained a lot of confidence riding outside and fueling without stopping. Before training with FC, I would stop every 10ish miles to drink and fuel.
Run – I cut ~1min/mile off of my 10k pace/13.1 pace over Olympic and 70.3 distances (and have the race numbers to prove it!)
Nutrition – I added some calories to my water bottle and made a nutrition plan that I trained with. This worked wonders – no “ick” during the races!

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

1. Learning how to swim properly
2. Knowing I’m able to improve at a fast rate
3. Staying consistent

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
Having a competitive outlet that is healthy, on my own time, builds character, and allows me to travel around going to events.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
You’ll surprise yourself with how quickly it will help you get the results you are capable of! And you will get 100% of the support you need from a great group!

One of the Quickest Ways to Nutrition Success

One of the quickest ways to nutrition success

One of the tried and true methods for gaining control of your food, your body, and your life is to write down what you eat.

Having coached hundreds of people on their nutrition and fitness, I know that people almost ALWAYS underestimate how much they eat and overestimate how much water they drink.

When you write it down, you face that reality!

Now, here’s the thing…

You can’t just write it down at the end of each day or once every 3 days and expect it to work. It takes accountability in that moment.

When you try to recall, you forget things – it’s inevitable.

So, I’m giving you a template that you can use to track exactly what you’re putting into your body. Print it out and use it to your advantage! This will give you a truly accurate picture of what you’re doing so that you can assess yourself and move closer to achieving the results you desire for your health and your body.

Here’s the link to download your free nutrition log template, and as always, if you need further support, I’m here for you!

I use this template with all of my Nutrition and Triathlon Transformation Clients so we both get an accurate idea of where we can make positive changes. Learn more about it all the details of my Nutrition Essentials 6 week group or Individual course.

Set the Bar High for Yourself While Managing Your Expectations

Set the bar high for yourself while managing your expectations

Setting big, scary goals is exciting.

But it’s also quickly disheartening too many times when we fail to support our efforts by managing expectations. Most of the time, the problem isn’t that the goal is too big or grandiose. It’s that we’re not setting reasonable expectations about reaching it.

Here’s an example that’s super-oversimplified to make the point.

Suppose you’re 25 pounds overweight and decide to lose that much through exercise and eating right.

Is that a reasonable goal?

Absolutely!

Now, let’s say you want to lose 25 pounds in two weeks.

Is that a realistic expectation?

Absolutely not!

And yet I hear from people all the time who want to do something like this in such a tight timeframe.

Look, expectations are the mother of all disappointments. But setting goals and setting on a well-charted course to reach them?

Well, that’s how you get where you want to go.

Don’t change the desired destination. Just pick the right path.

I’ve been hosting my FREE 4-Day Nutrition Reset Challenge this week which is a GREAT way to start on the right path to healthier nutrition choices and ultimately a healthier you.

If you’re ready to kickstart your transformation journey it’s not too late to join! Click this link to sign up, and you can even watch all the Facebook LIVES I’ve done this week about the program right inside our Triathlon Obsessed Facebook group.
