Victor Morales Achieves Rockstar Triathlete Success

Coach Erinne’s Notes:  I coach Victor remotely from Miami, as he lives in Naples, Florida.  We communicate via Zoom and review his videos for bike fit and swim and run analysis. He has come a few times to train with us before and after races as well as attending my Swim Essentials Swim training Series. His progress this year is simply amazing, even with having me as a remote coach. I am so impressed with his commitment to accomplish his 70.3 goals and now to get even faster! So very proud of your seriously MASSIVE improvements in all your swim bike and run times (see below- WOW!!!). Looking forward to an EPIC 2018 together!!!!!

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey? I chose FCC because Erinne offers a holistic approach towards training and helps to prepare yourself to face the challenges that endurance sports represent in a really personalized and tailored way.

What is your “A” race for this season? My “A” race was Ironman Augusta 70.3, I decided to sign up for my first Ironman after completing some sprints and I definitely needed to seek help to be ready for this race

Please share your BIG goals: My goals have changed as I have progressed in life as triathlete

1.- Learn how to swim – As a late bloomer in swimming my first goal was to shift from “swim to survive” to an average swimmer, I couldn’t swim the length of a pool, now I can swim 1.2 miles with no sweat espcially after I took Erinne’s Swim Essential’s last Spring.

2.- Complete my first half ironman – I did this in Augusta in September 2018, I trained for about 7 months to achieve this goal, I completed my first half in 7 hrs.

3.- Improve my fitness- My fitness was below average before I started training, I could barely run for five minutes. Now I can tell I am in the best shape of my life!

Tell me about your successes so far:  What were some of your biggest Improvements in performance for the each of the following? Swim: Bike: Run: Nutrition/Health: Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved:

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

2. Bike 10mi – 39 min to 29 min, ride for more than 60 miles without bonking
3. Run 5K – 47 min to 28 min, running is a part of my life now

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon? Being involved in triathlon and endurance sports enables you to push your limits and rediscover your own boundaries on what you think is possible and the things that you can achieve. It allows you to enter into a deeper connection between your body and mind

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?. This will be a life-changing experience, there are not many things in life that can give a return on investment like this program, the returns are a greater and improved health, increased fitness and the satisfaction of achieving your goals and pushing your limits to new levels are priceless.

Christina Avila Achieves Rockstar Triathlete Success

Coach Erinne’s Notes: Christina was a true beginner when she first joined us. She joined at the lowest level just attending the morning classes and she was focused on only the distance of the race and not concerned with form, technique or speed work and strength. By simply attending classes- NO ONLINE program at all, she has made some amazing improvements. The Full Circle Coaching work hard to make sure each athlete get the attention they need at every training session. Christina’s improvements include no more knee pain due to improved strength and flexibility to getting faster by including intervals and skills training at the group sessions. I am super proud of her and love her ever present smile and sunny disposition. She is one to watch! Congrats on an amazing triathlon season Christina!

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?  Initially, I chose FCC to help me on my triathlon journey because I needed more explicit coaching for running and strength training.

What is your “A” race for this season?  I am unsure what my “A” race will be for this coming season but I would like to complete a 70.3. I would like to do the Olympic distance Escape to Miami so I can swim from the island.

Please share your BIG goals:  To be able to complete a 70.3 without falling apart.  To continue getting stronger and building endurance.  To be faster in the swim, bike, and run.

Tell me about your successes so far:  I am very happy to say that I recently completed my very first international distance triathlon. It was very challenging for me but I was able to finish it despite the weather. I have also completed several sprint triathlons that have consecutively shown improvement in speed.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for the each of the following? Swim: Bike: Run: Nutrition/Health: Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved:  Each sprint triathlon I did this year showed improvement in the swim, bike, run, and transition. My swim improved by almost two minutes from the first trilogy to the fourth, and my run by six minutes. I recently PR’d my 5k running time, and completed my first international distance triathlon.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:
1.
Being consistent in training
2.
Getting more individualized attention during track
3.
Taking part in the Friday strength training class that has made me stronger and eliminated my knee pain.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?  I love being involved in triathlon! There is so much to be excited about! I am not the fastest, but I love being able to challenge myself and see improvement over time. There is nothing like getting to the finish line and knowing that you made it! It is also great to be part of a group of people that share the same passion and are nothing but supportive and encouraging to one another.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?  I would say to definitely try it out.  I love starting my day with a training session, especially the Wednesday swim class and the Friday strength training class.  The FC group is very welcoming, and it is very motivating to be among such incredible athletes.

Even after 6 years Ironman Triathlete Steven Bolitho is Still Getting Faster and Staying Healthy

Steven Bolitho

Coach Erinne’s Notes: Steve is an amazing athlete. He never gives in to any setback and hits every training session rain, shine or cold. We were all concerned with his heart condition, but instead of it being a setback he has come through surgery stronger and faster than ever. He just set a new personal record at Miami Man 2018 and is hitting new speed goals for his long course goal of breaking 12 hours at his next Ironman®. The best part about Steve is his sense of humor and sarcasm- he always makes the team laugh and we love having him on our Team. Steve you will no doubt achieve your next goal and any others you have set for yourself. Thanks so much for choosing Full Circle as your Triathlon Tribe!

Meet Steven Bolitho, Full Circle Coaching Rockstar Triathlete

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey? FCC was recommended to me by a friend who passionately sold me on the virtues of Erinne and her coaching expertise. (Thanks Jose)  its now been over 6 years that I have been with FCC and its still going strong.

What is your “A” race for this season? Ironman® Texas and SOS Triathlon NY

Please share your BIG goals: I am trying to go Sub 12 hours at Ironman®  Texas.

Tell me about your successes so far: I have finished approximately 30 races including Sprint, Olympic, Half and Full Ironman® events, 2 mile swims and a plethora of run distances. My last Ironman® I finished in 12:22 and look forward to beating that time.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for the each of the following? Swim: Bike: Run: Nutrition/Health: Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved: My swim time has gone from 2:30/ 100 pace to 1:45/100 pace; Bike average power went from 190  to 210 watts and my run times have remained constant despite some setbacks. What everyone needs to understand is I achieved these goals after having an ablation surgery to control A-fib and being diagnosed with a bicuspid heart value with an ascending aortic aneurysm. Erinne remained not just supportive when I received this news and went through surgery but also actively assisted in helping me control some of the side effects including breathing difficulties and elevated heart rate. I am absolutely convinced I would not only have given up this sport when I was given my diagnosis but also reverted to an unhealthy lifestyle without her support, understanding and coaching.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon? The feeling of achievement continues to drive me and every time I race I look forward to seeing my improved results.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program? Stop procrastinating and take the leap.

Beda Molina achieves Rockstar Triathlete Success (2nd year in a row) and Places top 10 at Ironman Miami 70.3, 2017

Coach Erinne’s Notes:
This lady never ceases to impress me. Her energy is infectious and wow can she dance! Most importantly, her dedication to her beloved sport of triathlon is unmatched. Whether she is with us at the group sessions or on her own she does not miss her training, even in rain and wind. Getting up at 4:30 is part of her routine often, but she makes training a priority. I am so happy she has done the rest, recovery and strength training over the previous 6 months to eliminate her hamstring injuries and race these 2 races back to back with great success. Using the tools that I give her we predicted her last 2 races within 3 minutes of her goal time. That is what good coaching and training is all about, an awesome coach/ athlete communication and relationship. I am so proud of you Lady! Can’t wait to see what you do in 2018! shoot for the moon and you will make it!.

Meet Beda Molina, Full Circle Coaching Rockstar Triathlete

Age: 51 years old

Profession: Business owner

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?  I Chose Full Circle Coaching because I trust Coach Erinne Guthrie’s knowledge, and I love the group of people in the team.

What is your “A” race for this season? I had two “A” races this season, Ironman 70.3 Augusta, and Ironman 70.3 Miami.

Please share your BIG goals: My big goals are to keep lowering my race times, avoid injuries, and prepare for an excellent full distance race next season.

Tell me about your successes so far: My successes so far, are in the results achieved in my three races this season. I was able to win AG in my first race this season, Olympic distance and quite competitive group.  Then finishing a sub 6 hrs half distance at Augusta felt really good, and in Miami I was able to place top ten in my division.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:
1.  First, the swim keeps getting better, I exit the water with a ton of energy, I will be focusing in the swim in the next few months.

2. I can now put together a strong bike and a strong run within the same race, which is very important, I definitely have improved in both disciplines.

3.  I have been able to stay away from any significant injury and have maintained a good health in general this season, so I intend to continue to follow Coach’s guidance in strengthening workouts and nutrition.

The things that have made the biggest difference are: following a training plan and being consistent with my training sessions and nutrition and being able to make a good race plan with accurate and realistic race times, something I learned from coach Erinne, which is an important tool as I have recently found out.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?  What excites me about triathlon is getting to know so many people that are out there doing what I’m doing, the sport is in my opinion growing more each year particularly for us not so young athletes, also getting good results in race day and watching my conditions get better with the training are both exciting.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program? To those considering joining our training program, I would recommend to join, it is certainly has helped me.

Why do I Still Race?

medal EG 2_m-100779859-DIGITAL_HIGHRES-2141_042097-10684174

Why do I still race?  I could be the coach that used to race.  The one who remembers the glory days and now I just sit on the couch eating bon-bon’s, remembering how I used to be healthy and in great shape.

But, that’s not me!

I believe it’s important to practice what you preach and I aim to do just that, PRACTICE!
Because at times it’s difficult to get it all right, Wait!!! Do we EVER get it ALL right???
Sometimes it feels like I do.  When I am in that flow state, but mostly I am just behind that, always striving to get back there. And that is what keeps me motivated to keep training after all these years (21 to be exact).

Racing is a privilege and as long as I get to keep racing, I will! There have been too many times over the years that I was injured or sick when racing wasn’t an option so I cherish racing.
I love it!  It takes me out of my day to day, shakes things up and pushes me out of my comfort zone.  Our minds and bodies need stress to improve, get stronger and faster. There is no better feeling than crossing that finish line, arms overhead, smiling ear to ear with that awesome sense of accomplishment.

Having a goal to get across the line with a new personal record or just get out there and give it my all helps me get my training in on a daily basis.  Without that race date on the calendar it can be hard to stay focused on training or stay motivated, especially after doing this for 20 years.  However, with a race day set on the calendar I’m much more likely to be consistent. Then there are the races where I participate just to get a workout in with no real goals but to cross the line.

I’m not the fastest triathlete by far, but I’m always just searching for ways to improve and get better just like all the athletes that come to me for coaching.  I never in a million years imagined I’d get to a World Championships, but I set this as a goal 3 years ago and this year for the second time I competed in a World Champs.  My first time was last September 2016, at Cozumel, Mexico. I competed in the Inaugural Age Group Draft Legal Sprint World Championships and this year in 2017 I raced in Penticton, Canada for  the Long Course Aqua Bike World Championships.

Traveling to cool destinations is also a bonus of racing!

The most important reason I race is because I KNOW it makes me a better coach.  When I’m racing I am constantly thinking how I can remind my athletes of all these things I am experiencing.  The chafe on my neck because I forgot to add coconut oil so my wet suit doesn’t rub. The benefits of chamois cream for a long course race. The best gearing for climbing, the healthiest nutrition that aids in performance; and a million other things that include the good the bad and the challenging.  I hope to inspire my athletes to set big goals and work smart and hard to achieve them. Everything I learn I love to share and pass along to them.  Racing takes skill,  practice and repetition to get better.  I have raced in well over 100 races and I have learned a lot but there is so much more to learn and share. Just as much as I love to achieve my goals in racing, nothing makes me happier than to see my athlete’s successes! It’s truly Awesome!

I don’t think my coaching would be as effective if I wasn’t still out there participating and getting the real time information.

I have a rule that I follow about who I learn from. This includes doctors, coaches, therapists. I always look at them and ask myself “Do they exemplify what I want to be like? Look like?  Are they fit and  healthy? Have they mastered what it is I am seeking advice from them for? Or have they helped others get to where I want to go?”

If the answer is “No,” I’m not likely to follow what they recommend as much as someone who does!

Thanks for reading.  Hope to see you at the races!!

Wishing you well,

Chris Kinnaird Achieves Rockstar Triathlete Success

chris kinnaird

Coach Erinne’s Notes: So Chris is my neighbor who I casually gave some running tips to here and there, which allowed him to break his 4 hour marathon goal! He kind of thought I might know what I was talking about after that. Then he won a free entry into the Ironman Miami 70.3 at our Holiday party and I thought for sure he would give the entry away, but I was pleasantly surprised when he decided to go for it! The rest is history. One year transformation from “runner only” to IM 70.3 Success. His biggest limiter being the swim, he knocked it out of the park on a seriously tough race day. You are truly a RockStar Chris! I know you make me and your family proud. Can’t wait to see what you say yes to next!!!

Meet Chris Kinnaird, Full Circle Coaching Rockstar Triathlete

Age: 44
Profession: Professor at MDC

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey? This all started when I won a raffle for a free Ironman 70.3 registration. What a mistake that was! But that set me on a path of challenges, struggles, accomplishments, and success that I never imagined in my wildest dreams.

What is your “A” race for this season?  See above

Please share your BIG goals:  See above (Although I now am looking forward to new goals for next season, such as competing in a full Ironman or running my first ultra-marathon)

Tell me about your successes so far:  If you had told me a year ago that I would complete 6 triathlons this year, including Ironman Miami 70.3, I would have told you that you were nuts! I raced in my first-ever sprint triathlon in April, and completed a 70.3 less than 6 months later.

What were some of your biggest Improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim: Bike: Run: Nutrition/Health: Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved: A year ago, I couldn’t swim one length of the pool. Now I can say that I swam 1.2 miles in the ocean. Obviously that didn’t happen overnight. The FCC training program kept me focused on my goals.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:
1. Having a support group of like-minded athletes (“crazy people”) who are training alongside you and holding you accountable
2. Working with a coach who frequently checks in on you and knows your personal goals and abilities and pushes you to reach beyond your limits.
3. Establishing a set of short, medium, and long-term goals outlined by your coach to keep you motivated throughout the season

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?  Coming into triathlon as “just a runner” I now have confidence in myself to go after goals that I used to think were impossible.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program? If you want to see your entire life transformed in a few short months, do it!

Gatorade is Toxic; Choose something better

I know! I’m now going to be stalked and killed for going against this big name in sports nutrition but I will let you decide for yourself. I am a fact finder and I look up ingredients if I don’t know what they are and if they are healthy or not.

I have a few resources including thefoodbabe.com, The www.chekinstitute.com and my favorite, a website called www.EWG.org to check my products and ingredients for the facts.

I encourage you to look on a bottle of Gatorade and then look up what the ingredients are. The dyes are known carcinogens and cause neuro-toxicity! Orange flavor Gatorade is made with brominated vegetable oil which is a known cancer causing agent. Why would I drink that?!

I recommend slower burning carbohydrate drink mixes. They range from potato or corn starch or coconut sugar if you are still a carbohydrate burner.

These are some of my suggestions for alternatives to Gatorade:

Organic Tribal Endurance by Natural Force – (My favorite) use the discount code ID-DSZ-705 for savings.

Ucan Super Starch use discount code FULLCIRCLE

And Race RX use FULLCIRCLE for savings.
Start making smarter choices for your sports drinks and stay away from the toxic sugar water!

Wishing you well,

Terri Camejo achieves Rockstar Triathlete Success: I got 4 Minutes faster training with Full Circle Coaching

image008

Coach Erinne’s Notes:

Terri is my Dark Horse triathlete. She is very humble and quiet in training but get her on the race course and she lays it all out there. Extremely dedicated to hitting all the workouts with the group or on her own she has definitely shown the most improved in the shortest amount of time! It took months to get her to switch from Duathlon to Triathlon and now she is doing a 70.3! I am so proud of how far she has come in such a short time and look forward to her continued success. COngratualtions Terri you are a true Rockstar Triathlete.

Meet Terri Camejo, Full Circle Coaching Rockstar Triathlete

Age: 49
Profession: Teacher

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?  I chose Full Circle Coaching in January 2017 after the recommendation of friends that are also part of the program. I was looking for a coach that could help me learn how to swim as I began my journey as a newbie Triathlete.

What is your “A” race for this season?  I would say my “A” Race would have to be the Huntington’s Disease Triathlon 2017. I signed up for this race under the encouragement of my coach Erinne who told me I was ready to swim an Olympic Distance. Much to my surprise, I entered the lake with only one thought in mind, “I have to get to the other side without panicking.” As I made my way across I knew I was half way home and just had to keep ‘blowing my bubbles’ as coach Erinne had taught me. On my way back, I just had to relax into my stroke and eventually I would make it to shore. Transitioning to the bike went well as I relaxed into my favorite leg. I was happy with my time on the bike as well as on the run landing me with 4 place in my age group. Needless to say I was shocked I was even in the top 5 which just shows what great coaching and dedication can accomplish.

Please share your BIG goals:  My big Goal is to complete my first 70.3 Ironman in Augusta this September. This goal was set back in January when my husband decided he wanted to participate in an Ironman. With the help of my coach and fellow teammates, I am looking forward to crossing the finish line and hearing my name.

Tell me about your successes so far:  In April this year, I competed in Tri-Miami where I became very anxious as I entered the ocean as others bumped into me during my first triathlon open water swim. I was happy with the results of this Sprint race as I placed 6th in my age group. My second Sprint was 7 weeks later in June 2017. This time I was familiar with the course and was prepared for being bumped and pushed during the swim. I actually felt confident and pushed someone off of me as I rounded the buoy. I was happy with the results of this Sprint as my time was 4 minutes faster than the previous race landing me into 3rd place in my age group. Finally, my third and most challenging race thus far was Huntington’s Disease Olympic Distance this July. Since swimming is not my strength nor what I feel comfortable doing, it was a challenge to set my mind to swim in a lake of all places where I am not as buoyant. This was by far my greatest accomplishment in preparing me for Augusta 70.3.

What were some of your biggest Improvements in performance for the each of the following? Swim: Bike: Run: Nutrition/Health: Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved:

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

1. Learning the basic skills of swimming from coach Erinne has made the greatest impact in my training. Gone are the days of having to wear fins to make it to the other side of the pool. I have learned appropriate breathing, balance, stroke, and kicking techniques. Although I still don’t enjoying swimming, I can honestly say I wouldn’t have been able to compete in the 3 events I have thus far without her coaching.

2. The bike has always come natural to me and it is what I enjoy the most. However, I wouldn’t be able to have the speed nor endurance without the help from my coach Dennis. He has taught me how to push myself beyond what I could have imagined and because of this type of training he has enabled me to keep up with ‘the fast riders’ on the road. Thanks coach Dennis for gently pushing me to strive to be better and stronger.

3. The run is something I started off doing on my own a couple of months before joining FC in January. Attending track and learning proper running form, strengthen exercises, and stretching has enabled me to learn how to prevent injury and to run. This was accomplished through the encouragement and support of my coaches Erinne, Dennis, and Wilman.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?  I enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow triathletes on the Full Circle team. Everyone is always helpful in sharing techniques in what has worked for them as an athlete. Also, the support and encouragement is wonderful in a sport that can be very independent and self-seeking. As far as the triathlon event, I enjoy hearing the crowd cheering the athletes on as they cross the finish line.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?  I would encourage them to join the FC training program to develop the appropriate techniques that will improve their individual weaknesses and provide the support needed to fulfill goals as an athlete.

Make Over your Cleaning Cabinet

Essential-Oils_Category_US_SCWEB_v1Whats up Triathletes, as you know I love my essential oils. I also hate all the chemicals we are exposed to on a daily basis. I always check out my products at a great website called www.EWG.org

This site will tell you how the products you are using rank from 1-5 on a scale of least to most toxic.

Toxins are added stressors on the body and who needs more stress; We already have work, life and training stress.

Check out the tips below to lessen your toxic load. If you are interested in learning more about essential oils, please attend one of my classes on August 20th (Link HERE) or comment below and I can have an individual wellness consult with you and how to use essential oils in your life!

Make over your Cleaning Cabinet

Many large companies launch “new and improved” cleaning products that claim to protect your family but what they neglect to inform you is that these common cleaning products are lathered with harmful chemicals that have the potential to do more damage than good.

Whether you clean your own home, have a housekeeper, or a combination of both, I am sure there are two things that bother you:

1. Filth
2. Chemicals

Unfortunately, most people are using common household cleaners like big-box store detergent, hand soap, and dish soap which are often filled with harmful ingredients that put you and your family at risk.

My goal is to introduce alternatives to some of the common products you use that are filled with harmful chemicals and ingredients. Oh and you don’t know where to get your oils I can help. I have a WEBSITE  where you can order individual oils retail but I suggest becoming a member so you can get wholesale prices and free oils – reach out with any questions and I can help you.

Let’s discuss the MUST HAVE basics…

  • BAKING SODA: Absorbs and eliminates odor. Use to clean counter-tops, sinks, and tubs. Sprinkle some baking soda on your carpet and vacuum after 15 minutes for a fresher look and feel.
  • WHITE VINEGAR: Contains natural anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. Cuts grease and dissolves mineral deposits.
  • CASTILE SOAP: Lifts dirt, cuts grease, and eliminates tough stains. Pour a small amount over baking sheets and pans then scrub for a few minutes for clean, shiny results.
  • SALT: Salt is an effective scouring agent. Pour salt mixed with hot water down the kitchen sink regularly to deodorize and keep grease from building up.
  • dōTERRA® FRACTIONATED COCONUT OIL or OLIVE OIL: Great natural cleaner and polisher. Rub it into leather or polish wood surfaces.

Here are some fantastic DIY products derived from the oils above:

Multi-Purpose Cleaning Spray: In a large spray bottle, combine 2 cups of distilled water with 1/2 cup white vinegar and 10 drops Lemon (or any other citrus essential oil).

Freshen the air: Add 15 drops of Wild Orange and 15 drops of Peppermint to an 8 oz. glass spray bottle of distilled water.

Make It Sparkle: For sparkling clean sinks, tubs and counters, mix 5 drops of Lemon, Lemongrass, Peppermint, or Wild Orange essential oils with baking soda and enough water to make a paste. Store cleanser in a covered glass jar because essential oils will break down plastic. Scoop out cleanser with your hand as needed, and scrub and wipe down as usual—a soft scrubbing brush works great!

Disinfectant: Add 4 drops of Eucalyptus, 4 drops of Lemon, and 2 drops of Bergamot essential oils to a 4 oz. spray bottle of distilled water. Use to disinfect hands, counters, doorknobs, toilet seats, etc. Shake well before each use.

Great Smelling Laundry: To disinfect, freshen laundry, and kill dust mites, add approximately 6 drops of Eucalyptus, Lemon or Purify oil to wash cycles. You can also put a few drops of essential oil on a clean, wet washrag or wool balls and add it to the dryer to lightly scent clothes.  Make sure you are not using any toxic laundry soaps like tide or ALL- check out your brand at www.EWG.org to see how yours ranks in chemicals.

Clean your Toilet bowl: Sprinkle baking soda and 1-2 drops of Lemon essential oil into the toilet bowl. Spray down the toilet seat and bowl with Disinfecting & Sanitizing Spray. Clean and wipe down as usual.

Okay that is enough for now, but as you can see, there are plenty of ways to makeover your cleaning cabinet.
